THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.
ACTION OF THE EMPLOYERS' FEDERATION. BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.
TIMAEU, May 5. As Mr Pryor, secretary to the New Zealand Employers' Federation, was passing through Christchurch en route to Timaru, to-day, he was met by the directors of the Blackball Coal Company, and received a r<.ply to an offer made by the Advisory Board of the Federation This was that if the Government would not take action against the Unions that have voted contributions to the strike pay fund of the Blackball miners, the Federation would employ a counsel and pay all expenses if the Company took action. If the directors accepted this offer, the question as to whether making such contributions is an offence, as aiding and abetting a strike, will be teste! in a Court; of law.
