THE WAIRUNA-MOONAH COLLISION.

NAUTICAL COURT'S DECISION. AUCKLAND, May 2. Mr Kettle, S.M., gave the decision of the Nautical Court to-day in the collision between the steamer Wairuna and the scow Moonah, in which Seaman Fred Smith was drowned. The Court was unable to conclude that the Wairuna was in any way responsible for the collision, and was of opinion that the master of the ketch was solely responsible. It ordered costs to be paid by the master of the Moonah, and that his certificate be suspended for six mcnths. WRIT OF ATTACHMENT. WELLINGTON, May 2. A motion for leave to issue a writ of attachment against Mr Pownall, Masterton, was made before Judge Cooper to-day. The grounds of the motion are Powuall'a failure to obey an order of tne Supreme Court on November 14th, 1907, to file accounts of administration.of the estate of Julia Ann Siddells, deceased. The motion was originally before the Court on February sth, and.was adjourned, Povvnall undertaking to filte accounts. This was not done. Judge Cooper said defendant seemed to find some difficulty in getting information, but he had ample time to get it. Leave to issue a writ was granted, the direction to be in the sheriff's office until Monday, 11th inst.
