TWO SHOPS BURNED DOWN.

WAIPAWA, May 2. The premises of Messrs Ronkjer (draper) and Simpson (hairdresser) were destroyed by fire at Waipukurau last night. Mr Jones' butcher's shop was partly destroyed. The insurances are: — Rookjer, furniture and stock £250, in the Australian Alliance Insurance; that on the building is unascertainable. Simpson, building, £350, in the Phoenix; Jones, building, £250, in the London, Lancashire and Giobe.
