CLOSER FRIENDSHIP URGED. Received May 1, 8.15 a.m. LONDON, April 30. Speaking at the Lord Mayor's Easter banquet at the Mansion House, Mr T. A. Coghlan, AgentGeneral for New South Wales, said that one entente had been very much neglected by Britain —namely, the establishment of a close friendship between Englaud and her colonies. England felt so sure of the colonies' good will, that she thought nothing about them. He would be glad to see signs of a decided change in the feeling towards the colonies.
