EARL OF CREWE'S PROMISE. Received May 1, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, May 1. Replying to the congratulations of the Agents-General on his appointment as Secretary of State for the Colonies, the Earl of Crewe promised to do his utmost to promote the interests of the colonies.
