METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington« reports as follows:—The rainfall for the 24 hours, up till 9. a.m. on Thursday, was 21 points. The rain fell on 12 days in April. The maximum'fall in 24 hours was 66 points on the 19th, and the minimum 2 points on the 21st. The total rainfall for the month was 2.48 inches, as against 3.08, 3.03, 2.99, 3.30 in April 1904, 1905, 1906 and 1907. The total for the four months was 9.68 inches, as against 11.89, 9.62,14.64, and 20.73 during the coresponding period in 1904, 1905, 1906 and 1907.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following report for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind. —South-easterly, moderate to strong at all places northward of Napier and New Plymouth, but northerly moderate to strong elsewhere, changing to westward after 16 hours. Barometer. Little movement northward of Napier and New Plymouth; fall thence southward but rising after 16 hours.
