THE SOLENT DISASTER.
CONFLICTING REPORTS
Received April 28, 8.1 a.m. LONDON, April 27,
The "Daily Chronicle" states that the Gladiator's men assert that they received from the St. Paul a signal to port. The cruiser, which was then in her own water, went hard a-port, but the liner, instead of changing her direction, kept her course, causing a collision. Witnesses on the liner say that the cruiser, which was hugging the shore, went to port instead of keeping on her course. Received April 28, 8.28 a.m. LONDON, April 27. Twenty-three of the Gladiator's men are still missing.
