RIFLE SHOOTING.

The members of the Fairview Rifle Club entertained the members of the Opaki Rifle Club at the former's range yesterday. Teams were picked by the respective captains, and a match was fired at the 200 and 500 1 ranges. At the conclusion of the shooting at 200 yards, the teams and their friends adjourned for luncheon provided by the ladies of the Fernridge. .Captain McGregor, of the Fairview Club, announced that this would be the last gathering to be held under the auspices of that Club, as the members intended throwing in their lot with the Opaki Club, as the latter Club intended to make the Fairview range, which they had used this season, a permanent one. Three handsome trophies, presented by the Fairview Club, were won by Messrs J. Henry, D. McCalmont and R. McGregor. Following are the scores: — [ CAPTAIN McGREGOR'S TEAM.
