TORN BY A TIGER.
A NEW ZEALANDER INJURED. CALCUTTA, April 17. •Mr Leopold Acland, a New Zealand landowner, was wounded by a tiger in the Kalna district, north of Calcutta. The tiger disappeared into the jungle, but suddenly reappeared and felled Mr Acland to the ground. Another of the party shot and killed the tiger while it was dragging Mr Acland by the arm into the jungle. Mr Acland's arm has been amputated.
