ORIENTAL IMMIGRATION.

AN IMPERIAL CONFERENCE SUGGESTED. LONDON, April 17. Mr R. C. Munro-Ferguson, M.P. for Leith. and other prominent Liberals, are urging the Government to convene an Imperial Conference to discuss the problem of Oriental immigration; Lord Ampthill (formerly Governor of Madras arid temporarily Viceroy of India), contends that the question is over-ripe for settlement. He argues that economical necessity, not racial prejudice, is the root of the difficulty.
