FOOTBALL.
A football club, which intends to compete lor the Bush Districts Championship, has been formed at Eketahuna. The following officers have been elected for the ensuing year:— Patron, Mr F. D. Felling; President, Mr F. C. Tumor; Vice-Presi-dents, Measr3 S. Nilssen, J. Anderson, A. Manguaon, A. Bray, A. H. Herbert, J. Oldridge, F. Wise, J. Pre'ndeville.W. Dempsey, H. Sheldon, | E. Page, Dr. Chadwick; secretary, Mr J. White. The New Zealand football team will play »t Newcastle on April 22nd and 25th; against New South Wales at Sydney on May 2nd, 6th, and 9t'i; Queensland, at Brisbane, May IGth, 2)th, and 23rd; Australia, at Sydney, June sth. • The following will represent the Red' Star juniurs against the Polhill (Wellington) third-class team in Fraset's paddock this afternoon:— Full-back. A. Dixon, ; three-quar-ters, W. Flaws, Coyle, N. Chamberlain. ; five-eighths, L. Boyd, E. Flaws; half-back, F. Ball; forwards, B. Smith; G. Ross, G. Barker, P. Mcßarron, T. Neam, O'Brien, L. Shuttleworth. and Hursey. The Southern Club are unable to send a team to Masterton, and consequently the match between them and the Red Stars which was to have been played to-day will not take plu'^e. It is probable that five teams will compete in the Saturday third class championship, viz.: Red Star, Masterton, Carterton, Greytown and Dalefield. The Masterton and Athletic seniors will meet in the showgrounds this afternoon.
