A.YOUNG GIRL MURDERED. AN ARREST MADE. Received April 15, 11.8 p.m. SYDNEY, April 15. A girl, sixteen years of age, named Lilian Bridge, the daughter of a dairy farmer near Maitland, was found butchered in a paddock. Her head was fearfully battered, the weapon used evidently being a tomahawk or axe. Ayoung man, named Green, has been arrested on suspicion of having committed the murder. A CITY'S COAT OF ARMS. Received April 15, 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, April 15. The city council resolved to add the coat of arms of Captain Cook to the city coat of arms. SYDNEY SHOW. Received April 15, 9. 40 a.m. SYDNEY, April 15. Despite the drought in the early part of the year, the Royal Agricultural Show has advanced in all sections. COLLISION AT NEWCASTLE. A BARQUE DAMAGED. Received April J5, 10 a.m. SYTJNEY, April 15. The steamer Derwent and the barque Metropolis collided in Newcastle harbour. The Metropolis was considerably damaged.
