At 9 a.m. yesterday, Capt;iin Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind. Southerly, moderate to s'rong at all places northward of East Can p , Taupo, and Kavhia; westerly moderate to st o g at all other places. Barometer. Little movement northward of Kaikourn and Hokitika; indications frr falling barometer thence southward. Rain. —There are indications for rain in most places south of Napier and New Plymouth.
