A STRIKE AT HASTINGS.
BY TELEGtIAI'H —I'KESS ASSOCIATION. HASTINGS, April 13. This morning the Hastings bakers' carters, eleven in number, struck for better pay. The strikers state that they have been receiving forty-two shillings a week of fifty-four hours, but more often than not they have worked sixty hours. They claim fifty shillings and overtime. They met on Saturday, and decided to strike if their demands were net acceded to. No reply has been received from the employers.
