WAIRARAPA THURSDAY UN,ION.
The annual meeting of the Wairarsapa Thursday Rugby Union was held at Carterton on Thursday evening. Representatives from the Rover, Albion and Liberal Clubs attended ■and Mr C. Fairbrother occupied the chair. The secretary pointed oat that the Liberal Club was the only .one that had notified the Union in writing of the delegates who would represent it at the meeting in accordance with the rules of the Union. A rough balance-sheet was placed before the meeting, which showed that when all claims were met the Union would be in straightened cir■cumatances. It was reported that the Liberal and Rover Clubs had -each voted two guineas to the funds •of the Union. It was resolved that the Union take all money at cup matches. revision of the rules was decided 'Upon and the work of same was entrusted to a committee consisting of E. McKenzie, J. Henderson *£and J. M. Nicholls. j}A senior and junior toam was each ■entered by the Rover, Liberal and ■ Albion clubs, and it was decided that the season should be commenced on April 20th. In view of the New Zealand-Eng-match, it was decided to endeavour to ■arrange matach with the Saturday Union for May 23rd. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan; president, Mr A. C. Major; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. McCarty, P. J. Bannin, W. D. Halley, C. A. Pownall, and W. Moore; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. E. Edwards; management committee, Messrs J. Henderson, N. McKenzie, J. Wickenf, C. R. Fairbrother, D. Keith, H. Tutbury, J. McGuinneao, W. Tucker, 1 and J. Dew; senior selection committee, Messss .E. McKenzie, L. ■Williams and J. Henderson; junior ■selection committee, Messrs W. Crawford and V. Fairbrother; auditors, Messrs H. Hall and H. Hart. Delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs E. McKen'ze ■and A. E. Edwards.
