NEW ZEALAND'S NEW COMMANDANT.
15Y TEIiKGRAI'II—I'WESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, April 7. Major H. P. Head, of the Royal Garrison Artillery, and latterly commanding No. 14 Company at Shoeburyness, has been appointed Director of the Ordnance and Commandant of the Permaneant Forces in New Zealard. He was selected by the British War Office on behalf of the New Zealand Council of Defence, and will arrive \in New Zealand shortly to t.ake up his duties. Besides succeeding Major J. E. Hume, the officer commanding the Permanent Forces, Major Head will take over the duties of Director of Artillery at present carried out by Captain Richardson.
