A SQUABBLE. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION . PERTH, April 4. At a meeting of the West Australian Cricket Council, the secretary submitted a lengthy report concerning a misunderstanding which had occurred with the manager of the English eleven (Major Philip Trevor), on the occasion of the last visit of the team.

Major Trevor had written:—"ln regard to the amount guaranteed under the agreement with the Board of Control in reference to English matches arranged to be played in your State, your council must be prepared to allow the Marylebone Club half of the gross takings of the ground only, and guarantee the sum will amount to £250." 2 The secretary's contention was that the English eleven having received this amount in the first match were only entitled to half the gross receipts on the last visit, and this interpretation proved correct. A. 0. Jones, the English captain, the report states, saw fi*-. to interpret the secretary's contention as an attempt to do'the EnJish team out of money to which they were entitled, and vilified him as one attempting to deprive them of their just rights. It was decided that the account of the condULt of certain members of the English team, as contained in the secretary's report, be forwarded to the Board of Control, with a recommendation that that body should forward it to the Marylebone Club.
