UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE.

WON BY CAMBRIDGE. Received April 5, 4.4 p.m. LONDON, April 4. Cambridge won the boat race by two and a-half lengths. Received April 6, 12.39 a.m. LONDON, April 5. Oxford won the tos3, and chose the Surrey side. Cambridge immediately went half a length ahead. They maintained the lead throughout and paddled home in 19mins 19secs.

The first race between the Cambridge and Oxford Universities was rowed in 1836, when Cambridge won. Cambridge in all has won 28 races, and Oxford 33. The race in 1877 was a dead heat.
