SEDDON MEMORIAL TABLET. A COMPLAINT.
Received April 3, 1.4 a.m. MELBOURNE, April 2. The Seddon Memorial Tablet, subscribed by the men of the Newport workshops, has not been erected according to a promise made, although it has been in New Zealand over twelve months. As a result there is much feeling on the matter. The secretary has written to Sir J. G. Ward several times. On each occasion he has received a reply that there had been no time to do anything, but the matter would receive attention as soon as possible. The secretary has now written to the secretaries of kindred Unions in New Zealand, asking them to urge Sir J. G. Ward to take action in the matter.
