STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday as follows: —We again had a heavy yarding of sheep. Notwithstanding the recent rains prices showed no improvement on la(e sales, and although nearly all lots found purchasers before the close of the day vendors had in most cases to reduce their reserves. In cattle were yarded upwards of 600 head, but bidding was lifeless and prices ruled low. We quote : Sheep: Fat and forward ewes to 10s, breeding ewes 7s 6d to lis, twetooth ewes (small) 10s 3d, store ewes 4s to 7s, cull ewes 2a to 3s fid, lambs (good woolly) 7s 3d, others 3s to sp, culls 2s fid, best two-tooth wethers 12s 10c), others 10s to 12s fid, rams, Romncys Ign to Hgn. Cattle: Fat cows £5 2s fid, store cows 20s to £2 10s, cows in calf £2 10s to £3, bullocks, good £6, 2-J-year steers £3 6s, 18-month to 2-year steers £2 7s fid to £2 15s, station-bredjj cows £3, empty heifers 22s fid to 30s, mixed yearlings 15s to 225.
