GREAT SALE OF FURNITURE.
The magnificent assortment of furniture to be offered for sale at the Post Office Auction Mart, on Wednesday next, on behalf of an Auckland manufacturer, has arrived, and is now displayed in the spacious auction hall. An effective method has been adopted for showing the goods to the best advantage, inasmuch as the furniture for each room in a well-equipped home is set out by itself. In the mart proper 'two dining-rooms are furnished, No. 1 containing a handsome saddle bag dining suite, Chesterfield couch, with chairs to match, sideboard, dining table; whilst* No. 2 contains sideboard, solid English oak dining suite, upholstered in leather, Chesterfield couch in green velvet and saddlebag and table. The bedrooms (one of which is set out in the show-room) are elaborately furnished with massive solid brass bedsteads, combination mirror wardrobes, suites, cheval duchess dressing tables and marble top washstands to match. Linoleums and carpets have been put down in the respective rooms to complete the exhibit. In an inset circulated in this issue the auctioneer draws attention to the fact that this is a genuine unreserved sale of one of the best assortments of high-class furniture ever offered in Masterton. Gaslight displays will be made each evening till datte of sale, and residents are cordially invited to inspect.
