METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddirgton reports that •.the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the twenty-four hours up to 9 a.m on Friday, was -65 points. "The total rainfall since the drought broke up is 6.01 inches. Captain Edwin issued the following :forecast at 9 a.m. yesterday, for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind Westerly, moderate to strong at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Kawhia; strong to gale from same direction elsewhere generally, but changing towards south at places southward of Timaru and Queenstown after 12 hours. Barometer—Rise at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo and Kawhia; fall everywhere else but rising southward of Timaru and Queenstown. Rain is probable southward of Napier and New Plymouth. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited at East Cape, Capes Campbell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit and Nugget Point.
