HOCKEY.
The United Hockey Club held its annual meoting in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, last evening, when the report and balance-sheet for the year—the latter showing a satisfactory position —were adopted. Owing to a good many of the offices in town deciding to hold their weekly half-lioli.iay on Saturday in place of Thursday, it was found that practically all the members of the Club would be unable to play on Thursdays during the coming season, and consequently little hope was entertained that a team would be entered for the Thursday competi-
tions. Instead, however, it is probable that the club will play on Saturdays. Eulogistic reference was made to the services rendered by the secretary, Mr C. Carley, during last season, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
