FOOTBALL.
The annual meeting of the Red Star Football Club will be held in the Occidental Hotel on Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock. All members and intending members are requested to be present, as important business is to be brought before the meeting. Davy Gage, the old Poneke (Wellington) player and New Zealand rep., is at present an inmate of the Wellington Hospital. His complaint is the result of an old football wound.
The annual meeting of the Masterton Football Club will be held on Friday evening, at 8 o'clock, in the Y.M.C.A. Building. As several matters of importance are to be dealt with a full attendance of members and intending members is desired. The annual meeting of the Rover Football Club was held in the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton, on Monday evening. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr T. Shaw; President, Mr W. Halley; Vice-Presi-dents, Messrs T. H. Hughes, J. Fraser, B. Scannell, A. C. Feast, E. A. Edwards, G. Hughan, A. S. Judd, T. P. Firman, J. Spora, B. Wadham; Auditors, Messrs H. Hart andH. Hall; Captain, N. McKenzie; Vice-Captain, G. Hall; Secretary and Treasurer, R. Fairbrother; Management Committee, the captain, vice-captain and secretary, and Messrs Edwards and McGuinness; Delegates to Wairarapa Thursday Rugby. Union, N. McKenzie, C. Fairbrother, McGuinness, Edwards, Spower, captain, vice-captain and secretary. Several new members were elected. Tde subscription was fixed at 43 for seniors, 3s for juniors, and 2s for third class teams. It was decided to open the season on the 26th inst.
