SOUTHLAND CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

CECEDE PROM ATHLETIC UNION. INVERCARGILL, March 23\ At a meeting of directors of the Southland Caledonian Society it was decided to cecede from the New Zealand Athletic Union. The motion was carried almost unanimously. Nineteen members of a directorate of 25 were present, and two only opposed the motion. One of these is the chairman of the Southland centre of the New Zealand Athletic Union, and the other is a delegate from a couhSociety. The Society has been prompted to take this action by the union's decision in respect to * the Society's action in allowing a disqualified competitor to compete in a juvenile dancing event. ■
