Mr Bowman, Labour leader, in a speech, said that in the past many useful measures had been thrown out by the Legislative Council, but they would now be passed by both Houses. Smith was executed to-day for the murder of Clinton at Day Dawn on January sth last. Death was instantaneous. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received March 24, 1.9 a.m. SYDNEY, March 23. At the wool sales prices are weak ana irregular. There are large withdrawals, and prices all round have declined a half-penny to a penny compared with three weeks ago.
