SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION NAPIER, March 21. The weather cleared sufficiently this morning to allow of the swimming championships being proceeded with, though the water was a bit choppy. Results:— 220 Yards Breast stroke Championship—A. W. Russell (Sydenham) 1, G. L. Bull (St. Albar.S) 2, F. Truscott (Christchurch) last year's champion, 3. Won by four feet. Time, 3 min 17 l-ssec. 100 Yards Championship— Champion (Auckland), 1; Freyberg (Wellington), 2; Dawson (Otago) 3. Won by four yards. Freyberg swam outside the flags. Time, lmin 13sec. LATER. In connection with the 220 Yards Swimming Championship, to-day, a protest was entered against B. C. Freyberg, who finished second, for not'touching the rope. The protest was upheld and E. J. Dawson (Otago) was placed second, and F. E. Dodge (Christchurch) third. I
