HOLLESLEY BAY FARM. Received March 20, 3.36 a.m. LONDON, March 19. The President of the Local Government Board, the Right Hon. John i Buni3, informed Sir F. Channing, M.P., that after selling the produce and reckoning the relief given to dependents, the weekly coi-t per man at the labour colony at Hollesley Bay was from 30s to 425, compared with the local w-'ge rate of agricultural labourers of 17s. Mr John Burns, speaking in the House of Co'ntrons, the other day, on the Unemployed Hill, referred to the failure of :;he farm colonies, and stated that ILdleslcy Bay involved a loss of £2.i,()00 a year. He gave some striking illustrations of the unsatisfactory results of such methods of assisting the unemployed.
