At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours : Wind.—Northerly, strong to gale after from ten to sixteen hours in all parts of the country. Barometer. —Fall everywhere. Rain is probable in all parts of the country, and is likely to De heavy in most parts o? the South Island. Warning signal for northerly gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, Capes Campbell. Foulwind, and Nugget Point, and for westerly gale at East Cape.
