PERSONAL.
Mr H. King has been appointed second assistant teacher at the Greytown School. Mr E. E. Chamberlain intends to pay a visit to the Old Country shortly. He will be accompanied by Mrs Chamberlain and their two daughters.
Mr R. A. Douglas, who ha» been for some time on the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, Carterton, and who has been transferred to Wellington, left for that city yesterday. Sergeant Edwards, who shot into third place for the Rifle Championship at Trentham, and who came to Masterton with the Champion on Thursday night, returned to Wellington, yesterday afternoon, en route to his home in Australia.
Mr George Wildish, of Gisborne, President of the United Fire Brigades' Association, left Masterton yesterday morning for Gisborne. A number of other delegates, who had attended the late Conference at Masterton, also left for their respective homes in Palmerston North, Dannevirke, New Plymouth, Gisborne, and Auckland.
The friends of Mrs Frank Lambourne will regret to hear of her death, which took place at her residence in Queen Street, South, about 9 o'clock last evening. The deceased had been suffering from an internal complaint during tbe past two months, and this was the ultimate cause of her death. She was 38 years of age, and a native of Portsmouth, England, and came to New Zealand with her husband about five years ago. She has resided in Masterton practically ever since. There is no family.
