PERSONAL.

Chief Inspector G. H. Jenkinson, of the Stock Deoartment, is at nresent on an official visit to the South Wairarapa.

The members of St. Cuthbert's, Church Choir, Eketahuna, will tender ' a farewell social to Miss Page, organist at the Church, on Monday eveniny next.

Mr and Mrs W. H. Beetham, of Masterton, who have been on a holiday trip to the Old Country, returned to New Zealand by the on Wednesday.

The death occurred, at Wellington, on Wednesday evening, of Mr Isaac Plimmer, an old resident of that city. The deceased was the son of the late Mr John Plimmer, of Wellington.

Praise is due to Mr T. Shields, the popular Consul of the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association, for the enthusiasm he displays in connection with aquatic matters. On the occasion of both Masterton Carnivals, where gentlemen were admitted, he has attended, and given valuable assistance to the officials, who duly appreciate Mr Shields' disinterested kindness.

Eegimental Sergt.-Major Collier has bden presented by the Masterton: Mounted Rifles (his late corps) with an enlarged framed photograph of the officers and non-commissioned officers of the corps, and also an enlarged photograph of the whole of the corps. The presentations are from the officers and non-comissioned officers respectively, by' whom the popular regimental officer is highly esteemed.
