THE DAY DAWN MURDER

SMITH SENTENCED TO DEATH

PERTH, March 7. Harry Smith, found guilty of the murder of Clinton at Day Dawn, on January sth, was sentenced to death. Bloomer and Potter were found guilty as accessories after the fact, with a recommendation to mercy, as they acted under Smith's influence, and were sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

(Clinton was employed in the Great Fingall mine at Cue, and at the time of the murder shared a camp wich Smith and Bloomer).
