POSITION OF ENTOMBED MEN CONSIDERED HOPELESS.

LONDON, March 6. . Failure attended- repeated heroic efforts to rescue the nineteen men entombed in the Hampstead colliery, Birmingham, in which a fire occurred through the upsetting of candles. The position of the men entombed is considered to be hopeless.

Nineteen men are entombed in the mine.
