THE ENGINEERS' STRIKE.
MR LLOYD GEORGE'S PROPOSALS REJECTED.
Received March, 6 9.12 a.m. LONDON, March 5. The engineers' balloi, by a large majority, rejected the Right Hon. D. Lloyd-George's proposed terms of settlement. Mr George G. N. Barnes, secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, is again conferring with the President of the Board of Trade.
The alternative proposals on which a ballot was taken were as follows: (1) Whether they would resume work, on the basis of no ctiunge; (2) if there was to be any change before Easter, and in that case for or against a reduction of a shilling a week; (3) the matter to be submitted to a referee.
