METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind.—Northerly; strong to gale at all places northward of Wanganui and Napier; easterly, strong to gale thence southward to Queenstown and Nugget Point; moderate easterly in the southernmost' districts. Barometer. —Fall everywhere. Rain is probable at all places northward of Queenstown and Nugget Point, and rivers high, excepting eastward of East Cape, Taupo and Napier. Warning signal for northerly gale is exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tintiri, and East Cape, and for easterly gale at Capes Campbell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit, and will be shown at Nugget Point after sunrise. Mr J. C. Eoddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain Jor the twenty-four hours up to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, was three points.
