ATTEMPT ON LIFE OF SHAH OF PERSIA.

TWELVE PERSONS KILLED

TEHERAN, February 28.

Two bombs were thrown at the Shah of Persia in Teheran, killing twelve and wounding twenty persons. The Shah escaped unhuit.

Details of the attempt on the life of the Shah go to show that the bombs were thrown from the roof of a house in a narrow street. One exploded in the air, and the other struck the ground, killing the outriders near the Shah's unoccupied motor car.

The cavalry escorting the Shah fled, and the latter, who occupied a carriage in the rear, returned to the Palace. A search in the house in the vicinity for those who committed the outrage proved fruitless

The news of the occurrence caused the greatest surprise in London, as the situation at Teheran has recently been quiet.

An attempt was made on the life of Doctor Alcorta, President of Argentina. A bomb was thrown and struck the carriage while he was driving in the streets of liuenos Ayres, but failed to explode. Four arrests have been made.
