FRONTIER WAR.
THE INDIAN OPERATIONS
BRITISH POLICY.
Received February 28, 8.3 a.m. LONDON, February 27
The Right Hon. J. Morley, Secretary of State for India, in reply to Mr Ellis, Liberal member for Rushcliffe, said the Government of India had been instructed to take no steps leading in any way towards the permanent occupation of the Zakha Khel country. He added that the Imperial Government adhered to its frontier policy of the past decade. General arguments against any reversal of that policy were par'.icularly strong in the present case. "The Times" interprets the latter remark as meaning a recognition of the Ameer's scrupulous friendliness.
