METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind.—Easterly; moderate to strong northward of Napier and New Plymouth; northerly, moderate to strong elsewhere. Barometer. Little movement northward of Hokitika and Lyttelton; fall in the northernmost districts after 16 hours; further fall at all other places. Rain. —There are some indications for rain northward of Thames and Manukau Heads. Warning signals for northerly gale will be exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dieman after sunrise.
