METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday, Captain Edwin issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours: — Wind.—Easterly; strong to gale at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan; south-easterly moderate to strong thence to Hokitika and Lyttelton, but northerly moderate to strong elsewhere after 16 hours. Barometer. —Fall slowly northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan; little movement thence to Hokitika and Lyttelton; fall, all other places.
