MASTERTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

'""Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report .__We held our monthly sale of wool', skins, hides and tallow yesterday when we offered 20 bales and 80 bag 3 wool, 1,500 sheepskins, and 250 hides. The quality of the skins and hides offering was poor, there being very few attractive lots of either skins or hides. There was the usual good attendance of buyers, but prices ■all round showed a fall of £d to Id in our January sale. We quote:— Wool—Crossbred wool, 5d to 5Jd; dead wool, 4d to 5Jd; bellies and pieces, 2£d to 3£d; locks, Hd to 2|d; lambs wool, 4d to 6|d. Skins-Fine crossbred, 6d to 7d; medium crossbred, 5d to 5Jd; dead skins, 2d to ■9W- short wools and pelts, 3d to 4d; \ Bb skins, 4d to 5Jd. Hides—Ox, fcSod! none offering; ox, inferior and cut 23 to 3|d; cow, medium, 4d to 4Ad; cow, inferior and cut, 2d to 3d; calf, medium, 3Jd to 4id; calf, inferior, 2d to 3d. Tallow—ln tins, 18s to 18s 3d; casks, 21s 3d to 21s 6d; rough fat, lis 6d. Horsehair, * —ls 21d per lb. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, April Bth. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-oper-ative Association and Messrs Dalgety and Company held their monthly wool and skin and hide sales yesterday. They report:—Buyers were present in good numbers and competition was fair. Prices til round showed a considerable fall on those ruling at last sale. We offered 600 skins, 10 bales, and 60 bags wool, 100 hides, and a quantity of tallow •and torse hair. Our range of prices wa&vAfollows:—Wool—Lambs, fine, 4|d to 6d, fleece 5d to s£d, seedy 4d; locks and pieces 2£d to3£d, dead wool 3d. Skins-Fine crossbreds 6|d, long wool sfd, inferior 4Sd. woolly lamb sd, dead •crossbreds 4d to 4£d, pelts 2d to 4d. Hides—cow, good, 3|d to 4£d,. slippy 2|d to 3d, light ox 3£d, slippy 2§d to 2Jd; vearlings 3|d, calf, good 3§d to 4fd, slippy 2d to 2&d. Horse hair—ls 3d; fat in tins 15s 9d to 18s 6d per cwt.
