THE BUSH DISTRICTS' SHOW.

The entries for this Show, which is to be held at Woodville, on Wednesday next, have been affected by the season, and were very slow at first in coming in. However, it now appears that although the Show will not be a very large one it will be fairly representative of the different breeds of animals, and some very good stock may be expected at it. The competitions, which always form the most interesting part of a Show to the general spectator, have been very well filled, and those who like to see the horses going over the hurdles should have a capital afternoon's amusement. The newly-introduced competition, for gentlemen's driving, has caught on very well, eight entries having been received for it. A new division has been added this year in the shape of school children's work, and it has been freely taken up, schools from Makairo and Ballance to Dannevirke and Palmerston having furnished competitors. The entries for this number about a hundred and forty, and no doubt would have been larger had better notice been given of it, but matters were thrown back by the illness of the secretary. There promises to be a fair number of amusements on the ground, and the catering, etc., is in capital hands, so that visitors need have no fear as to the inner man.
