TIMAKU, February 19. Mr Hutcheson, S.M., delivered 1 iudement at Waimate, in the cas3 in ■which two bookmakers were charged with having offered to bet at the Morven Sports on December lb-h. The Magistrate considered the offence proved, and fined accused £1 each Tha cases were the first ol the kind brought under the new gaming laws.
