The weather was fine ind the wicket good. To-day's play left the game in a most interesting stage, the home team requiring twelve to win with one wicket to fall. The interest grew as the Welshmen overhauled the Englishmen's score, and towards the close it was intense. Bad light stopped play five minutes before six. Trumper played a fine innings, showing a return of a lot of his old form. With Bardsley he added 169 for the third wicket. Bardsley scored his first century ;n big cricket, and took three hours to make it. He showed excellent all-round form unmarred by a chance. Waddy's two innings' have earned him a place as twelfth man in the test match. Scores: — NEW SOUTH WALES. First innings 368 Second Innings.
