The "Westminster Gazette" says
—'"Bad luck and bad cricket caused England's defeat. The best cricketers won. Everything suggests that the Australians "were superior by virtue of their greater experience in test cricket." The "Pall Mall Gazette" remarks: —"lt is disappointing that the Britishers failed to make a better tight, even though the conditions were unfavourable. The brilliance of some of the Australian youngsters was one outstanding feature of the test matches."
The following will represent Masterton A v. Carterton, at Carterton, on Saturday week :— Perry, Parton, Mackellar, Redmond, Logan, Moorhouse, Bewley, Richards, Esson, Dwyer, Rawson. Any player who is unable to tak2 part in the match is requested to let the secretary know before noon on Friday. The drag will leave White's shop at 1.30 p.m. The following team will rep-
resent Carterton: — Beechey, Hart, Carroll, Feast, C. Gallon, W. Gal-, lon, Hansen, Kissel, Welch, Smart, Ticohurst. Emergency, Rev. Thompson. The following team will represent Masterton B against Carlton Aon the Oval, on Saturday next. Play will start at 2.15 p.m. sharp:—Claughton, Lyttle. Minnett, Haker, Martin, Beard, Mackenzie, Monro, Thompi son Hebenton, Morris, Sutton, Miller, Phillips, McPhail. Emergencies— Chapman, Winter and McLaren.
