RELEASE OF KAID MACLEAN.
MONEY DEPOSITED IN A BANK. Received February 10. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, February 9. In order to secure "Sir Harry Maclean's release, the British Legation deposited £20,000 in the bank and released fifty-six prisoners, and restored a number of slave wives captured at Zinal. Raisuli and twenty-eight relations become British protected subjects. The sum of £15,000 will remain in the bank for three years, Raisuli receiving the interest (£SO monthly.) Received February 10, 11.38 p.m. LONDON, February 10. King Edward has congratulated Kaid Sir Harry Maclean on his release, and has inquried after his health.
(Kaid Sir Harry Maclean, who had been held a captive by Raisuli since July last, was released recently).
