TRANSVAAL CIVIL SERVANTS. ADDRESS-IN-REPLY AGREED TO. Received February 7, 10.30 p.m. LONDON, February 7. , Sir Gilbert Parker (Conservative) submitted an amendment to the Ad-dress-in-Reply censuring the Government for not safeguarding the interests of Civil Servants in the Transvaal. Mr Churchill denied that Mr Botha (Premier) find dismissed British subjects from the Civil Service to make room for Dutchmen. The Colonial Office would try and find employment for Civil Servants whose offices had been abolished. He had reason to believe that the Iransvaal Government contemplated a pension scheme. The'amendment was withdrawn. The Address-in-Rep!y was eventually agreed to.
