DEARTH OF APPLICANTS. BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. DANNEVIRKE, January 31. The ballot for thirty sections in the Ruamati Block, recently purchased by the Government [near Dannevirke, took place this morning. There was not a great rush for the sections, which were generally considered to foe high priced, and twelve were not taken up. The exceptionally dry sea.son, and the fact that the regulations •compel the payment of twelve months :rent in advance also contributed to •the dearth of applicants. (three applicants): Mrs Price, Dannevirke; .section 16, Block XVI. (five applicants): William Webster; section •18, Block XVI. Sections 51, 54, 55, 2 and 28 (bracketed), 3 and 29 (bracketed), ■6, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 20 were n.>t applied for, but several applications •were handed in after the ballot. These will be balloted for by new applicant?, at Napier, to-morrow.
