RAIN FAIRLY GENERAL. WAIPAWA, January 31. L:'ght rahi fell for an hour this morning, but the weather has now cleared. 'CARTERTON, January 31. Rain fell last night, and continued to-day in showers. A strong, wind ia blowing, NAPIER, January 3L A slight sho-.vcr of rain fell this morning, but only sufficient to raise the hopes of farmers (hat the drought had been broken. EKETAHUNA, January 31. Rain commenced last evening, and fell intermittently through the night," 23 points being registered. The glass fell yesterday, but this morning is steadily rising again, and the weather appears to be clearing. The rainfall has freshened the pastures, though much more is needed. The rainfall to date for the month is 43 pointe. ASHBURTON; January 31. Hain has fallen here, and should do much good.
