Pragnell, Phillips, Hall, Smith, Crookenden, Ralph, Scrimgeour, Schubert, fjlren and Fairbrother. -*The following will represent Masterton A against Featherston at Carterton, on Saturday next:—Perry, Parton, Rawson, Logan, Isaacs, Richards, Moorehouse, Esson, Redmond, Morris, and Mackellar; emergency—Dwyer. The drag will leave at 1.30 p.m. The following will represent the . Masterton B team to play Carterton, on, the' Park Oval, on Saturday next: --Claughton, Lyttle, Minett, Iggulden, Winter, Martin, Chapman, Thompson, Hebenton,. Sutton, Phillips, Daniell, Monro. "Wellington cricket has received an accession of strength in the person of Connelly, who was the stock bowler for the Central Cumberland Club, Sydney, the principal batting members of which are the brothers fliaddy, Payne, and Pye. Connelly, v»\\o' was a member of the next Thirteen that recently played against the New South Wales representative Eleven, will be associated with the Petone (Cobcroft's) Club. Ages of three prominent Australian ' players:—Noble was thirty-five on Tuesday; Trumper was thirty on November 2nd; Hill will be thirtyone on March 18th. All three appeared in first class cricket in 189495. A performance deserving of special mention was that at Lancaster Park, Christchurch, on Friday, of R. Elliss. Playing for the Australians' Club, against the Chemists, he scored 237 out of the 375 for three wickets (innings declared closed), and then secured seven of <he Chemists' wickets for 19 runs, bowling four . ■Men with four consecuth'e balls. 'lt7r. Bannerman, a son of Charles Bannerman, coach at Christ's College, Christchurch, made 187 for his club in a second grade competition at Sydney the other day. It is the second highest innings ever played in any grade for the Sydney Club, the highest 1195) having been made four years ago. The five highest aggregates in first class cricket in the world have been compiled on the Sydney Cricket Ground, viz.:—1,739, England v. New South Walas, in 1898: 1,716, New South Wales v. South Australia, in 1907; 1,514 and 1,541, Australia v. England, in 1894 and 1903 respectively; and 1,553, Australia v. Rest of Australia, 1899. Wellington proposes to visit Auckland in quest of the Plunket shield, and suggests February 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th as suitable dates for • the match. *, Coming engagements for the English cricketers:—Victoria, at Melbourne, January 31st; Australia, at Melbourne, February 7th.
