Owng to unfavourable rumours and a continous draw on the resources of the banks there is a prospect of heavy withdrawals. To-day the directors of the National Bank of North America, which has a capital of two million dollars, requested the Comptroller of Currency to assume charge, in order to ensure the equal treatment of depositors.
